-
When you enter the "do jang",
acknowledge and bow to the Grandmaster and other Instructors.
-
Bow to the center of the mat when
you enter and exit.
-
Classes begin and end with a
formal bow to the Flags & Master with students lining up in descending grade
order.
-
Come to class 10 min. before class
starts so you can put your belongings away and be ready for class.
-
Talking should be kept to a
minimum level and should relate to the class subject.
-
Absolutely no foul language or
horseplay is allowed, before, during or after class.
-
Bring your Sparring Bag with you
to every class and place it nicely in the back shelf. (Sparring equip. is
required for all students from Sr. White Belt).
-
Keep finger and toe nails short
for everyone's safety.
-
All students must wear the
official Black Belt TKD Uniform, T-shirt, and Sparring Equipment when in
class. (Full Uniform must be worn during Testing and other Special Events)
-
The Uniform must be washed weekly.
It is helpful to have a few uniforms to rotate from. A dirty uniform is a
sign of disrespect.
-
The belt represents your progress.
Respect it and keep it on. Don't drag it on the floor or chew on it. When
tying your belt, turn away.
-
Answer Masters & Black-Belt
Instructors with "Sir" or "Ma'am."
-
All metal objects, jewelry,
piercing, necklaces or other such items should be removed.
-
No shoes, food or drink on the
mat.
-
When class is in session, parents
watching must stay quiet and watch their children so as to not
interrupt/distract students in class. (Keep cellphones on vibrate)
-
If the student will be missing a
block of classes (a week, a month, etc.), inform the Master ahead of time.
-
Be proud of yourself (as a Martial
Artist) and of your Tae Kwon Do Academy. Invite family and friends to watch
and join you on your journey towards a Black Belt by coming to Classes,
Testings, etc.
